Metra’s new engine

F59PH in Chicago

I finally caught Metra’s new F59PH on Canel street last week. These engines were added in 2015 to the Metra roster. I look forward to catching them more.

Human Side

Backing into Union StationMost of my photos don’t include the human side of railroading. I was lucky to catch this Metra F40 backing into Union Station. The employee on the back is making sure its clear and seems to have a smile on his face. I am wondering if one of the thoughts going through his head is, “Dang photographers.”

I’m back and the view is new

New view
Mp-36 Metra

Three years, has passed since the bottom picture was taking. The bottom picture has since gained a lot of favorites and was published in Trains magazine last year. The top picture is the new view, the Chicago skyline building itself further up. I wonder what it will look like in 2019 from this view?

Color Infrared Processing

Metra in the Garden

Some times you see a process that looks different and you want to try it. Over last weekend I picked up a book on 52 photo projects and saw this technique to convert to color infrared photos. I like the effect but its not good for all photos. I think its nice to see something different.
